Before Guardian Roof Cleaner TM
This shake roof is a classic example of a weathered shake roof in the Pacific Northwest. With time, a new cedar roof turns silver in color... and then black. The black color is from a mixture of dust, pollution, and pollen that creates an environment ripe for the invasion of your roof by microfungi, algae, and moss (generally being the most visible).
How does it work?
Here's how it happens:
Guardian Roof Cleaner™ is a water-based chemical penetrant that is a cleansing agent. It is also fire resistant & provides some degree of fire protection for your roof. Once your roof is free of debris, the product is applied with a low pressure sprayer and nature takes care of the rest!
WITHOUT PRESSURE WASHING, Mother Nature does the rest.
The chemical is carried by water. Once it is sprayed onto the roof, the water evaporates, leaving only the helpful chemicals. Guardian Roof Cleaner™ dries hard and adhears to the roof well enough for it to remain active anywhere from 2 to 5 rainy seasons. Since every roof type, style, and situation is different... your contractor will be able to tell you exactly what you can expect, based on their inspection of your roof.
Due to its cleansing action, the remaining "dirt" is gradually and harmlessly rinsed away within 2-3 months by gentle rain action. The principle is simple and elegant: a clean roof grows no moss, which is why this cleaning approach is so effective - yet gentle.
After Guardian Roof Cleaner TM
Prior to applying Guardian Roof Cleaner™ the debris was removed by hand and backpack or commercial air blowers... without pressure washing. The roof is then coated with the product, and now Mother Nature does the rest.
Guardian Roof Cleaner™ is activated every time it rains, and it generally takes a few months, to as much as a full rainy season to see results like this.
